Woman dies after Monday crash on Route 24 near Glasford

A Marietta woman died Tuesday after a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 24 near Glasford.

Bonnie Ford, 47, was headed eastbound on Route 24 near S. Glasford Road around 5:15 a.m. Monday when she failed to see a truck pulling a dump trailer stopped along the shoulder. Ford’s vehicle struck rear of the truck. It is unclear how fast she was going.

Ford was taken to OSF Saint Francis, where she was pronounced dead just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. She was wearing her seat belt at the time of the collision.

The dump truck driver, Kenneth Clark of Peoria, was cited for improper lighting.

Toxicology is pending.
