Today’s weather was a nice change from the active weather we saw earlier this week, but more storms will be possible as we head into the weekend. Thunderstorms will be possible tomorrow afternoon and evening, and once again some of these may be strong or severe.
Storms will move into the area as early as 2 PM. I am expecting these storms to be along a broken line, so any storms will likely be scattered as they move through.
While our initial storms may clear the area by 4-5 PM, additional showers and storms will be possible through about 8 PM.
While severe storms are possible for everyone in the area, the best chance for any severe weather will be south of I-74. Areas like Fulton and Mason Counties have the highest chance of severe weather locally.
High winds upward of 60-70 mph will be the main threat within any storms tomorrow. Large hail upward of 1″ in diameter will also be possible.
An isolated tornado can’t be completely ruled out, but chances are very low. Chances for flash flooding are low as well tomorrow.
Stay with Heart of Illinois ABC for the latest updates, and be weather aware tomorrow afternoon and evening.
