Peoria County State’s Attorney Jerry Brady dies Thursday evening

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood announced Thursday evening that State’s Attorney Jerry Brady died at 5:43 p.m. Thursday.

Harwood said Brady passed away at home, peacefully, surrounded by family. He was 70-years-old.

Harwood said “Jerry was a distinguished leader in Peoria County. He was not only my colleague, he was my dear friend and mentor. He will be missed dearly.”

Harwood went on to say, “‘Honored to Serve’ was Jerry’s campaign motto, and he sure was honored to do so.”

Senator Dave Koehler (D-Peoria) called Brady a pillar of the Peoria legal community.

“The entire community has lost a truly dedicated public servant. Jerry put his whole heart and soul into everything he did. We will truly miss him,” said Koehler.
