MCLEAN Co. — A Montana woman was arrested on drug charges in McLean County after Illinois State Police say they found hundreds of pounds of cannabis in her car during a traffic stop.
Police say they found 143 pounds of cannabis, 14 pounds of mushrooms, and nine pounds of cannabis wax in Amber Widner’s car.
Recreational marijuana will be legal in Illinois on January 1, but there will still be limits. Illinois residents will be able to possess up to an ounce of it, while non-residents can have half that. Police say Widner had 4,576 times the soon-to-be non-resident limit.
Her bond was set at $75,000.
