Farm accident amputates Peoria man’s arm

A Peoria County man was rushed to the hospital Saturday afternoon after his arm was amputated at the elbow by a grain auger accident.

The Princeville-Akron fire department responded to the call around 2:40PM Saturday.

They say the man was still conscious and alert when rescue crews arrived on-scene.

Originally, a Life Flight was called, but the man was transported to OSF St. Francis Medical Center by ambulance for the sake of speed.

It is not yet known if the man’s arm will be able to be saved.

The victim’s identification has not yet been released.

This post will be updated.
