Living with an inoperable tumor, teenager writes book for hospitalized kids

Peoria, Il. (HOI) – A teen author, who is beating the odds, wants to help others in their medical journey.

15-year-old Jackson Grant has a benign brain tumor that is inoperable. On Wednesday, he shared his life story at the Children’s Hospital of Illinois.

His book “The Donut That Roared” has made its way to many hospitals and local patients. Grant introduced everyone to what he calls ‘MRI Day’ and offered advice on how to stay positive.

“The glass is always half full for me and that’s just how I live my life. For somebody that has more of a negative mindset I guess these tips in my book can help them make it easier for themselves,” said Grant.
