Locals raise money for new family park in Washington

A Washington family wants to remember their late parents – and they’re looking to build a whole park to do it.

The five Gordon children want to build the Gordon Memorial Park in honor of the late Robert and Loretta.

One of several fundraisers was held Sunday at Kep’s Bar & Grill, all proceeds going towards their dream.

“I know I know how much the town meant to them and I just think this is a fitting tribute to both of them,” explained their son, Greg Gordon. “They were both very active in the community and what a better way to memorialize them forever in something where everybody can enjoy it.”

Right now, the park is only in concept stage – it will still be a while before it will be built.

But the goal is a place for families from Washington and beyond to have a place to play, relax and gather safely, including golf facilities, swing sets and a pavilion.

If you’d like to donate towards Gordon Memorial Park, the family has a GoFundMe set up.
