PEORIA (HOI) – Tuesday, Aug. 13th, marks the first regularly scheduled Peoria City Council meeting since the arrest of councilman, Zachary Oyler.
Oyler was arrested July 30th and accused of aggravated domestic battery, unlawful restraint, and interfering with the reporting of a domestic battery. Oyler bonded out of jail the next day.
Oyler’s chair was empty Tuesday as council began their meeting. The week of the arrest, council members, the city manager, and the mayor either declined to comment on the matter or did not respond to requests for comment.
