Former downtown arena director found guilty in theft case

BLOOMINGTON (WJBC) —  A jury has found the former director of the Bloomington downtown arena guilty of stealing from city government.

Curtis Webb was accused of using a debit card funded by the city’s government for between $500 and $10,000 in personal expenses. Webb could get probation or up to seven years in prison. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 28th.

His lawyer argued that Webb paid back the money after using a debit card for personal expenses.

Additionally, Webb faces a theft by swindle charge filed earlier this week in Minnesota where he worked as arena director before he came to Bloomington.

Monday, the chief prosecutor in Bemidji, Minnesota charged Webb with making requests for tens of thousands of dollars in fraudulent expense reimbursements when he was arena director there.
