Peoria woman receives 75 day in jail and 30 months probation for deadly January hit-and-run

PEORIA (HOI) – A Peoria woman will serve less than three months behind bars for a deadly hit-and-run in January.

Amanda Boyer was sentenced to 75 days in prison and 30 months of probation.

Boyer, 26, pleaded guilty to failure to report a deadly accident in June.

The maximum punishment for the charge is 15 years.

On January 20, Boyer hit 39-year-old John Lackey in the 3100 block of W. Farmington Road around 2:30 a.m.

Boyer was arrested at her home a few days later.
