Bloomington man arrested with handgun after foot chase

BLOOMINGTON (HOI) — After a brief foot chase, officers were able to arrest a Bloomington man for an outstanding warrant and possession of a handgun.

At about 3:30 p.m. September 5, Bloomington Police Department officers spotted Andrew L. Morris, 29, in the 900 block of West Market Street. Morris saw the officers and fled on foot before he was found and arrested.

Nearby, officers located a loaded .40 caliber semi-auto handgun, that Morris allegedly dropped during the chase.

Morris was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, resisting a police officer, and an armed habitual criminal charge.
