PEORIA COUNTY (HOI) — If you’re considering adding a furry friend to your family, now is the time to do it with free cat adoptions at the Peoria County Animal Protection Services.
PCAPS is waiving cat adoption fees through this Saturday, no matter how old the cat is.
They’ll be spayed and neutered, microchipped and started with vaccinations when they leave the building.
Shelter director Becky Spencer said these promotions happen during busy times of the year.
“This is something typical that shelters do, we have an increased volume of cats time of year,” she said. “Just yesterday we took in 14 cats.”
“So with the numbers being high, it’s time to do some promotions to get encourage some adoptions.”
The typical application process still applies.
PCAPS is open from noon-5 through Saturday.
