Local organizations hosting homecoming for people with ties to Peoria

PEORIA (HOI) – People with ties to the Peoria area may not realize what they’re missing and Peoria leaders want them to come back home.

The Greater Peoria Economic Development Council, along with the Peoria Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, Young Professionals Organization of Greater Peoria, Peoria Innovation Alliance and Startup Peoria, is hosting a homecoming event on Friday, November 29.

It’s designed to fit in during other holiday events occurring that night.

They want people who might be back in town visiting family to know what the River City has to offer.

“Our region punches above its weight class when it comes to affordability, good quality of life,” said Brent Baker, workforce solutions director at the Greater Peoria EDC. “We can compete with anybody and we want to showcase that to young families and young professionals who could potentially move back to the region and invest their time and talent here.”

The event will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on November 29 at  315 Main Street in Peoria.
