Tyshan Gayton found, arrested one month after allegedly firing at a deputy


PEORIA (HOI) - Peoria County Sheriff, Brian Asbell, confirmed a Peoria fugitive was found and arrested Wednesday evening.

Gayton, 23, of Peoria, was found in the 600 block of Spitznagle in Peoria after U.S. Marshals, the Peoria Police Department Target Offender Unit and patrol officers surrounded his location.

He surrendered without incident and was taken into custody on an Illinois Department of Corrections no bond warrant, according to a press release from the Peoria Police Department.

He was also arrested on other charges pertaining to an earlier incident.

Gayton has been at large since he allegedly fired at a Peoria County Sheriff's Deputy on November 7th.
