Shots fired near Bradley University

PEORIA (HOI) - Peoria Police said there was a reports of shots fired near Bradley University Monday night.

Sometime shortly before 10:00 p.m. police were called to the 1400 block of West Main St. for a report of someone being shot at. That's near the new business and engineering complex.

Police said there is no known victim.

According to campus police, three people knocked on the door of a home on Main St. When someone opened the door, one person showed a handgun and fired a shot into the hallway.

Police said that person hopped in a red car and drove off, heading east from campus.

Bradley PD said they think it was a targeted incident.

This incident comes just about a week after Bradley University announced they would be upping campus security and police presence. This was in response to a recent string of crimes on and around campus.
