Former PPS security officer to receive back pay in settlement

PEORIA (HOI) – A settlement has been reached between Peoria Public Schools and a former security officer.

Back in 2017, resource officer Ryan Schubert was fired for posting a racially inflammatory comment about a Martin Luther King Jr. statue on Facebook.

Instead of getting his job back, Shubert agreed to receive $30,000 in back pay and officially resign, according to the school district.
