20-year-old Chillicothe man dies in UTV rollover accident

PEORIA COUNTY (HOI) The Peoria County Sheriff's Office confirmed Saturday a man was killed late Friday night in an UTV accident. Alcohol was believed to be involved. Two men were traveling across a snow covered field off of rural Centerville Road half a mile north of Truitt Road when they lost control and flipped.

The man driving the Polaris Razor was 28-year-old Michael Ladd. He was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. He was charged with Aggravated DUI resulting in an Accident/Death and Reckless Operation of an All Terrain Vehicle.

The accident was believed to have happened during a time of inclement weather. The Peoria County Sheriff's Office and Coroner are still investigating.
