Bloomington man arrested in child molestation case

BLOOMINGTON (HOI) - Bloomington Police on Tuesday arrested a local man for child molestation following what authorities described as a lengthy investigation.

The Department's Street Crimes Unit arrested Brandon Umstattd, 21, of Bloomington about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday on ten warrants alleging predatory criminal sexual assault of a child younger than 13. All of the charges involve the same victim, according to police.

Umstattd is being held on a $1 million, meaning he can post $100,000 to be released from jail.

Although police made an arrest, investigators are seeking the public's help to build a case.
