PEORIA (HOI) - Three people are in police custody after a shooting that left one person wounded Thursday afternoon on Peoria's south side.

The shooting happened about 3:15 p.m. in the 1800 block of S. Griswold St., according to Peoria Police Public Information Officer Amy Dotson.

She said a police officer heard gunfire and saw three males run from scene. They were eventually taken into custody. There were seven gunshots in all, according to Dotson.

She said a man was shot in the legs, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The man was transported by a private vehicle to a local hospital, Dotson said.
