PEORIA (HOI) -- The Illinois High School Association is limiting attendance at the remaining games in the 2020 IHSA Boys Basketball State Series.
This is an attempt to reduce the potential spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The IHSA says the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Peoria City/County Health Department, the latter of whom recommended no more than 60 spectators per school be allowed in the arena.
This recommendation is for each contest during the Class 1A & 2A Boys Basketball State Finals Weekend.
The 60-spectator per school limitation will also be invoked across all remaining basketball games this season.
Those games impacted would be the Peoria, Pekin and Lincoln Sectional Championship games slated for Friday night, along with the ISU Super-Sectional on Tuesday, March 17th and the Boys Class 3A & 4A State Finals series March 20-21.
