Rachael Parker secures Democratic nomination in Tuesday’s primary

PEORIA (HOI) -- Incumbent Rachael Parker has secured the Democratic nomination after defeating Gabriel McLeod in Tuesday’s primary for the Peoria County Clerk seat.

Parker was appointed to the seat after the death of longtime Clerk Steve Sonnemaker died in June 2019 and won the race with 56 percent of the vote, 9,626 to 7,452 with all precincts reporting. 

No Republican candidate filed to run for the clerk's seat. It will be a two-year term.
