Washington (HOI) -- The U.S. Senate spent days hammering out a $2 trillion economic relief bill, and it sailed through its final vote without a single negative tally.
It passed 96-0.
The bill will set-up forgivable loans to businesses that keep their employees on the payroll as the country weathers the economic storm caused by COVID-19. It will also disperse checks of up to $1,200 for American workers, and $500 for each child they have.
It now heads to the House, which will reportedly vote on it Friday.
US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin says he would like the checks to go out over the next few weeks.
