LASALLE COUNTY (HOI) - Health officials in LaSalle County have announced an additional case of the novel coronavirus.
The county-wide total is now four cases.
The case is a man in his 80's, and he is in isolation at a local hospital.
Leaders at LCHD are actively working to identify anyone who was in contact with the man prior to his diagnosis.
A statement from the health department says they expect to see even more cases in the future, and all residents should assume they have been exposed to COVID-19.
As of Friday night, there were 31 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in nine counties in central Illinois. The Illinois Department of Public Health announced Friday afternoon that there were 3,028 cases statewide.
However, due to limited testing available, state and local leaders say the actual number of cases is likely much higher.
