LASALLE COUNTY (HOI) - A man in his 60s is the fifth person in LaSalle Couny to test positive for COVID-19, local health officials announced Monday.

The man was hospitalized and is now home in isolation, the LaSalle County Health Department said.

"Public health officials are working actively to identify and investigate all individuals who were in contact with the case," the news release said.

Federal privacy restrictions prevent the release of additional information about the case, the health department said.

It was also announced LaSalle County's first two coronavirus patients, a female in her teens and a man in his 40s, have both recovered and are no longer in isolation.

One of the two people from our viewing area who've died after testing positive from COVID-19 came from LaSalle County. The health department there said Saturday the man who passed away was in his 80s.

A woman in her 70s, who died from a COVID-related illness, came from McLean County, which has had 17 coronavirus cases in all.

The Tri-County area of Peoria, Woodford, and Tazewell County have reported 15 cases.
