WASHINGTON, Ill. (HOI) -- Quarantine did not stop teachers in Washington from safely seeing their students on what was supposed to be their first day back from Spring break.
Teachers and staff from Washington District 50 Schools "paraded" through neighborhoods with signs and balloons to let students know they are thinking of them.
Families were encouraged to wave and say hello while following social distance guidelines.
The district will be having a "long-distance spirit week" starting today with "Wild Cat Pride" day.
Aside from trying to have fun during the quarantine, the district is also working to help families adjust. They are setting up a site to offer support whether it be with distance learning, school supplies, technology or groceries.
