Health officials report no new cases in Tri-County area Tuesday

PEORIA (HOI) -- Peoria area health officials are reporting no new COVID-19 cases in the Tri-County area of Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties Tuesday.

Peoria County remains at seven and Tazewell at four, and Woodford at five, Peoria City/County Health Department Administrator Monica Hendrickson said at a press briefing Tuesday.

Hendrickson also said there are currently three confirmed cases in the intensive care unit at area hospitals.

There are two individuals being investigated in the ICU with COVID-19-like symptoms, but have not tested positive for the virus.

Edit: This article has been edited to show no new cases were reported Tuesday in the Tri-County area. It originally stated an additional COVID-19 case was confirmed in Woodford County, but that case was reported Monday by the Peoria City/County Health Department.
