It's another sunny summer day in the Heart of Illinois. We could see a stray pop up shower this afternoon but most of the area will stay dry. Tomorrow we start to warm up into the middle 80s with more humidity.
As we head into Friday we'll have a cold front approach the area from the Northwest. This will give us a line of powerful storms on Friday night. Right now, the Storm Prediction Center has areas along and North of I-74 in a level 2 (out of 5) for the likelihood to see severe storms. The main threats will be damaging winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
For now though, enjoy the sunshine and cooler temperatures.
