Football player with Peoria Notre Dame tests positive for COVID-19, others in isolation

Peoria, IL (HOI) - Head coach of Peoria Notre Dame Football sent an email out Thursday night to alert families that a player has tested positive for COVID-19, and also confirmed the news with Heart of Illinois ABC.

In the email, Pat Armstrong said 15 players in the program are not attending practice due to being in close proximity with someone who tested positive recently. Practice was canceled on Thursday due to this, and for the next 14 days.

Armstrong says they are following guidance from the Peoria City/County Health Department on how to move forward.

Further in the email, Armstrong says all protocols are being followed as players are asked pre-qualifying questions before practice and their temperature is checked once they arrive.
