MORTON (HOI) - The Morton Public Library was open for only a week before one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.
"We’re directly in contact with the Tazewell County Health Department and have begun the process of testing and quarantining the affected employees," said Alissa Williams, library director, in a Facebook post Tuesday night.
She said all library services are suspended until next Monday so the library can undergo a deep cleaning and to determine who's available to work when the library opens again.
Book valet pickups resume next week and the building will reopen to the public a week from Friday, August 21 at 10 a.m.
"I have said all along our highest priority is the safety of our community, patrons, and staff and we appreciate your patience as we follow the recommended procedures to handle this situation," Williams said.
