Coroner: 16-year-old dead after crash


UPDATE 1:29 PM -- Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has released the identity of the of the driver in the Wednesday night crash.

Aaron Miller, 16, of Brimfield, was pronounced deceased by Harwood at 10:30 p.m.

Autopsy results show Miller suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries and died instantly on impact.

Harwood said the vehicle fire did not contribute to his death.

Toxicology results are pending, however they will have no bearing on his cause of death, according to Harwood.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Peoria County Sheriff's Office.

BRIMFIELD (HOI) -- A fiery crash claims the life of one person in Peoria County.

Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell says it happened around 9:15 PM Wednesday night at U.S. Highway 150 at Thousand Dollar Road.

There, they found a vehicle that was off the south side of the road, and fully engulfed in flames.

After the fire was put out, it was determined that the vehicle was occupied by the driver only, who was pronounced dead by the Peoria County Coroner.

The identity of the person inside the vehicle has not been released.

The investigation is ongoing.
