Going from BRRRRR to a Fire Weather Watch

A frosty start to your morning. Temperatures this morning in the low 30s--some areas seeing temperatures below 30!

Frost chances decrease by mid-morning as the freeze warning expires by 9AM.

There is an elevated fire risk today and high fire danger tomorrow. A Fire Weather Watch is in effect on Saturday for areas east of the Illinois River as a result.

Gusty conditions today with west winds up to 30 mph. Even gustier on Saturday with south winds near 45 mph! In addition, humidity levels both days are near 25%. Because of these conditions, there is threats for field fires heading into the weekend.

Any fires that develop can quickly get out of hand. Outdoor burning is HIGHLY discouraged.
