East Peoria hosted its second annual "Trunk or Treat" in the Levee District on Friday. Illinois Cars and Coffee, along with the East Peoria and Fond-Du-Lac police departments put on the event.
Kids could go car to car to receive individually wrapped candy. However, the state health department says "Trunk or Treat" events are still high-risk for COVID transmission.
Along the way, there was a chance to check out the vintage car show going on simultaneously.
"So the kids are going to be able to trick-or-trick in East Peoria," Megan Taylor, East Peoria community resource officer, said. "Hopefully get a lot of candy because a lot of the events have been canceled so the kids aren't going to get as much this year probably."
Taylor added it was an opportunity for several departments throughout Central Illinois to come together for an event that attracts both a young and old group.
