CHAMPAIGN (HOI) -- The 2020-21 Illinois Men's Basketball schedule is finally gaining some clarity one week ahead of the season start date on Nov. 25.

The Big Ten released its conference schedule on Wednesday. The Illini will tip-off conference play on Dec. 15 hosting the Minnesota Golden Gophers and finish conference play on Mar. 6 against Ohio State in Columbus.

Illinois gets four home games to start the conference slate, but also has two separate three game road swings.

Where the Illini lucked out is not having to play preseason Top-25 teams Iowa (5), Michigan State (12), Rutgers (24), and Michigan (25) more than once. Instead they will play Minnesota, Penn State, Indiana, Northwestern, Wisconsin (7), and Ohio State (23) twice.

Illinois has also finalized its start of the season with a multi-team event, featuring games against North Carolina A&T (Nov. 25), Wright State (Nov. 26), and Ohio (Nov. 27).

Following the multi-team event, Illinois will play in the Jimmy V Classic against #2 Baylor. They still have an open date on Dec. 5 that they hope to fill soon. They wrap up non-conference play with the Big Ten/ACC Challenge against #9 Duke on Dec. 8, and the Braggin' Rights game against Missouri on Dec. 12.
