Tuesday brought abundant sunshine and highs in the low 40s for much of the Heart of Illinois. Today will likely features warmer temperatures for many, however there will be a few more clouds overhead.
Skies will start relatively clear this morning and then will become mostly cloudy by this afternoon. Southwesterly winds will help temperatures warm well above average, into the mid 40s today.
Communities to the south of I-74 could make a run into the upper 40s, while locations to the far north may struggle to break out of the upper 30s.
Winter weather makes its return to the region Thursday. Rain showers will be possible tomorrow afternoon, with a transition over to light snow expected in the evening. Any accumulation is expected to be light, but may lead to hazardous road conditions.
Chances for accumulating snow will continue on Friday. It appears that the total event will not be a big snow for the region, but there is certainly the potential for more than a dusting.
Unsettled weather, with additional chances for light snow continue into next week.
