The warmth that we saw yesterday has quickly become a thing of the past. We'll keep the sunshine for another day, however afternoon high temperatures will only warm into the low 20s. Bundle up!
A cold night is ahead, with temperatures falling as far as the single digits in some locations.
Clouds will gradually increase throughout the day tomorrow, with slightly warmer temperatures.
The first of a few chances to see some snow will arrive very early Sunday morning. Light snow will begin before daybreak and is currently expect to end by mid morning at the latest.
Snow accumulations should be light, with the potential for an inch to two inches at most for locations across the northern half of the area.
The forecast focus will then shift to a potentially impactful winter storm on Monday. There are still questions on the track of the storm, so the exact details on timing and amounts are not clear just yet. However, the potential is there for the Heart of Illinois to see plowable snowfall with this round of wintry weather.
