Multiple rounds of winter weather

Tonight, light ice and snow accumulations are possible into Sunday morning. This will create slippery conditions for some roadways, especially on bridges, overpasses and untreated roads.

All precipitation will be light overnight, but increases by Sunday morning. Snow accumulations will be under an inch. Higher accumulations are possible to the NW, near Quad Cities. Ice accumulations from freezing rain will be minimal to none.

A winter storm will bring a wintry mix of precipitation from Sunday
night through Monday night.
A band of snow is then expected to develop Monday which will bring heavy snowfall to parts of central & northern Illinois. Plan for accumulating snow Monday afternoon and evening. Monday morning through Tuesday morning, 4-6 inches of snow are possible for Knox, Stark, and Marshall. Lesser amounts near Peoria-Bloomington area. A winter storm warning could be issued for Monday.
