Statewide positivity under 5%; about 5,100 new COVID-19 cases

(HOI) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 5,152 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday. This brings Illinois to 1,098,527 total cases since the start of the pandemic.

Saturday's report also included 97 COVID-19 related deaths. In total, 18,711 Illinoisans have died from the virus.

As of midnight, there are 3,121 people hospitalized for COVID-19. Of those patients, 644 are in intensive care, with 338 on ventilators.

To date, hospitals have received 1,112,725 vaccine doses across the state, with 524,050 being allocated to long-term care facilities. In total, 657,820 doses have been administered.

In the last 24 hours, the state conducted 110,178 tests for the virus. The statewide seven-day rolling positivity rate is 4.9%.
