While it is still slick in some areas, many of the interstates and main roads across the Heart of Illinois have seen improvement since this morning. Drivers should still use caution if heading out.
Afternoon high temperatures reach the mid teens, under mostly sunny skies. Another frigid night is ahead, thanks to the cold air mass that is overhead and the fresh snow pack at the surface. Morning lows are expected to fall below zero.
Scattered snow showers are in the forecast for Wednesday. Minor accumulations, up to one inch, are possible for the entire viewing area.
The work week looks to end on a quiet and cold note, before a warm up begins this weekend. The warm up will be accompanied by the chance for a rain/snow mix to close out the weekend.
