PEORIA (HOI) - Family and friends of a recent car crash victim are now raising money for her end of life services. Cherish Coleman was killed in a 3-car accident last Friday.

One woman was arrested for DUI and hit and run among other charges as a result of the crash.

The family has set up a GoFundMe account to pay for funeral expenses. But Peoria resident Tammy Alexander thinks that isn't enough.

So, she decided to "do what she does" and cook for people to raise money for the family. "We just want people to know that in their time and grieve that we can be here for them," she said.

Alexander is preparing fired catfish with all the fixins Wednesday through Friday this week for $12 a meal. She can be contacted through her FaceBook page, or as she said Wednesday, "Everybody knows somebody who knows me."

Alexander said the victim did not have insurance. Now she's encouraging others to get it. "For you young people, get insurance please because it's a tragedy. Actually to me it costs more to die than it do to live," she explained.
