BLOOMINGTON (HOI) -The lights are slowly coming back on at Bloomington's OSF St. Joseph Medical Center after an underground cable caused a power outage Saturday afternoon.

Since about 3 p.m. Saturday, electricity has come from generators, but "all critical elements of the hospital, including medical equipment and life-saving equipment were powered with no interruption, and all inpatient care continued seamlessly," OSF said in a Monday night news release.

Electricity was partially restored about 7:30 p.m. Monday, and the hospital should be restored to full power soon, according to OSF.

For a time, St. Joseph redirected trauma and critical patients away from its emergency room, but all patients are now being accepted in the ER as normal, OSF said.
