Illinois sees about 1,700 new COVID-19 cases Saturday
(HOI) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,780 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday. This brings the state to 1,185,447 total cases since the start of the pandemic.
Saturday's report also included 34 additional COVID-19 related deaths. In total, 20,494 Illinoisans have died from the virus.
As of midnight, there are 1,353 people in hospitals for COVID-19. Of those patients, 312 are in intensive care, with 160 on ventilators
In the last 24 hours the state conducted 81,668 tests for the virus. The statewide seven-day rolling positivity rate is 2.4%.
IDPH's report also updated current vaccine counts across the state. So far, providers across Illinois received 3,183,805 doses, with 443,700 going toward long-term care facilities.
To date, 2,626,668 vaccine does have been administered, with 312,513 administered at long-term care facilities. The seven-day rolling average for vaccines administered across the state is 69,736.
