Vacant Peoria home damaged by fire

PEORIA, Ill. (HOI) -- It is unclear what caused a vacant Peoria home to go up in flames Wednesday.
Battalion Chief Ralph Phillips says it broke out at 5:25 AM Wednesday in the 1000 block of North Frink.
Fire responders reported heavy smoke coming from the eaves and front door. The fire was knocked down within five minutes.
No one was inside, but Phillips does say it appears squatters had been occupying the home.
No one was injured.
Damage is estimated at $15,000.
