A cold front will move through the area this afternoon and evening, bringing a line of showers and storms. Some of these storms could become strong or severe.
High winds and large hail are the primary threats within any storms, but a few brief tornadoes can't be ruled out.
Storms will begin to move into areas near and west of the Illinois River as early as 4 PM. These will then cross over the Illinois River between 5-6 PM and then push east of I-55 by 8-9 PM.
