Avanti’s scaling back hours of operations due to staffing shortage

PEORIA (HOI) — Avanti’s restaurants in the Peoria area will be scaling back its hours due to a lack of staffing, according to a Facebook post Tuesday afternoon.

Certain locations will be closed on Monday or Tuesday so that “employees may have the day off to spend needed time off with their families,” the post read.

The Avanti’s locations at Main Street in Peoria, north Peoria and in East Peoria will be closed on Mondays. It’s Rockwood and Pekin locations will be closed on Tuesdays.

“We hope that this will be a temporary situation as we are and have been actively seeking Management and Crew. If you know someone in need of a management or crew position we would love to interview them for a job,” according to the post.

The staffing issue appears to be following a national trend of a shortage of restaurant workers as the nation begins to open up after being shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
