BARTONVILLE (HOI) - Just like the golden days of the old Peoria State Hospital's Art Fairs, the Hospital Bazaar is more than just a vendor fair.
This weekend, the Peoria State Hospital Museum celebratesd it's 10th annual Bazaar. The event Showcases local artists, crafters, antiques and other unique vendors.
The Bazaar brings in nearly 300 dollars each year. All funds raised, what vendors pay to participate, go towards the museum to help preserve what's left of the hospital.
Over eighty vendors participated this year. Hospital director and curator, Christina Morris, hopes next year they'll hit one hundred.
"Everybody is excited to be out, especially now that you can be outside without masks. I think that has made a big difference. The fact that we are all outside allows people to move around freely and be comfortable," Morris said. "We have noticed this year that people are way more comfortable than the situation last year."
