(HOI) -- State champions are back in the Heart of Illinois with the 1A Girls State Track Meet went down in Charleston on Thursday. Champions from the Heart of Illinois include Maleigha Huston from Bushnell-West Prairie in the 800, Bloomington Central Catholic's Megan Becker in the 400, Stark County's Lindley Johnston in the high jump and Tri-Valley's Windsor Roberts who won her third state pole vault championship.
Meanwhile, it was sectional finals night in high school softball. In 3A, Washington advanced to super-sectionals with a 3-1 win over Bloomington. 2A action saw Normal U-High move on with a 4-0 win over Bloomington Central Catholic while Olympia's season came to an end with an 11-2 loss to undefeated Rockridge. In 1A, Illini Bluffs used the home run to power themselves to a 9-1 win over Brown County while ROWVA/Williamsfield used a late rally to top Princeville 2-0.
