McLean County board member who was voted in at age 19 resigns to take job out of state

BLOOMINGTON (HOI) — McLean County Board member Logan Smith announced on Facebook he has resigned from the board to take a job out of state.

Smith, a Democrat, was 19 when he was elected to the District 4 seat, which covers northwest Normal, in 2018.

In his post, Smith says, “I’m excited about what my future holds. I’m also excited to allow someone else to serve the residents of McLean County.”

Republican Board Chair John McIntyre will appoint a replacement, who must be a Democrat.
