Rose Rafferty decided in April it was time for a little Spring cleaning on her property.
Upon arrival she hired a local company to cut down two trees, each 100 years in age.
"…he came over, gave me a bid. The very next day, he started on the one tree, when he was here, I asked him if he could give me a bid on a second tree over on the side of the house, he said yes."
To complete the task a deposit of $400 would be requested up front.
"…since the whole job was going to cost me $1,400 I gave him half of the money he requested."
However Rafferty says her request was the one that was not fulfilled.
"He was here one day completed part of one tree in the back, and has never been back since."
A number of phone call and text messages would go unanswered, her level of frustration growing.
"...finally, it was to the point where I said forget it, you know, just cancel everything. Give me my money back, and he said oh no, let me finish my job."
Yet today both trees still stand outside her house.
