Heat advisories will go into effect starting at 1 PM this afternoon for much of the region. Dangerous heat is possible over the next few days.
Conditions will remain hot and humid, with daily highs into the 90's across the Heart of Illinois. Expect a high of 93 degrees in Peoria. The humidity will make it feel even hotter, with heat indices in the low triple digits.
Make sure to drink plenty of water and take several breaks if you need to be outdoors.
A complex of strong to severe storms will pass to our northeast late this evening into early Thursday morning. While most of us will remain dry, we could still see on or two storms locally as this system passes.
A greater chance for rain and scattered storms arrives in Thursday's forecast. A cold front will pass, bringing storm chances with it. While our severe weather potential is low, we could still see one or two storms on the strong to severe side. The primary threat would be strong winds.
Once this cold front passes, we'll see temperatures return to near average along with lower humidity.
Tune in this morning for the full 10 Day Forecast!
