PEORIA, Ill. (Heart of Illinois ABC) -- It is unclear what caused a South Peoria home to catch fire early Wednesday morning, but investigators are calling it suspicious.

Battalion Chief Scott Strum says the call came in just before 4 AM Wednesday in the 800 block of South Greenlawn.

When crews arrived, they found the fires on the second floor. They were quickly put out.

One person was inside when the fire broke out, but were able to escape.

Damage, according to Strum, was minimal.
